JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care) Florida is launching their 2016-17 Parent Forum program on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30 with Different Brains founder Hackie Reitman, M.D. He will be presenting his personal story of being the parent of an adult with Asperger’s syndrome, and on the importance of neurodiversity awareness and understanding.

Hackie Reitman, M.D. will be giving a keynote presentation on neurodiversity and leadership to the Autism Spectrum Leadership Conference, hosted by AASCEND and San Francisco State University’s Autism Spectrum Studies Department. He will also be presented with AASCEND’s 2016 award for Significant Contributions in Development. The conference will also have appearances from other Different Brains™ alum, including Michael Bernick and Eric Zimmerman.

He will be participating in a panel on Saturday, August 20th from 8:30am -10:00am, titled “The Doctors and The Researchers.” Later that same day, Dr. Reitman will be giving his presentation “Aspertools: Understanding And Embracing Asperger’s, Autism And Neurodiversity,” from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Hackie Reitman, M.D. will be presenting his DifferentBrains.com documentary “Autism, Asperger’s, and the Square Root of 2: A Neurodiversity Documentary.” The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Dr. Reitman. Admission is free, and the screening starts at 6:30pm, preceded by a reception at 6:00pm. It will be held at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, Auditorium – Room L28-1102.
